Admission Policies and Procedures
A very warm welcome to our prospective parents!
At NDIS, we ensure an easy and smooth admission process, so it is with the utmost diligence that our Admissions Team goes through each and every application starting from its initial phase. Parents are encouraged to visit us for a tour on campus prior to the application process. This can be done by contacting the school via email or telephone for an appointment.
- Complete our Online Application Form (one per child), please make sure you have the soft copies of the following before you attempt to complete the online application:
- Child’s recent photo (passport size)
- Child’s birth certificate (electronic)
- Parents IDs
- Most recent school report
- You will receive an acknowledgment once your online application is received. Please note that your application will become active only after all of the essential supporting documents are received.
Ethos International School is a highly selective of its pupils. Our assessment procedures vary depending on the age of entry, but largely comprise of the following:
- Entrance Assessments
- Interviews and character observations
- Previous school reports (for Key Stages)
All pupils applying to our school will be assessed. Admissions Team will contact you to schedule the entrance assessment.
- Age 3-5: Pupils applying to Preschool, Foundation Stage 1 and Foundation Stage 2 are invited to meet with the teachers in a small group setting to determine language, personal, social and emotional development.
- Age 6-8: Assessment is a two stage process:
- English and Math
- Arabic
- Age 9 to 13: Assessment is a four stage process:
- Online formative assessment
- Arabic assessment
- Creative writing task
- Interview
A member of the admissions team will contact parents to schedule the interview. Both parents are required to attend the family interview when applicable.
- Subject to availability and your child successfully completing the admission stages, you can expect to receive an offer for a place and an acceptance form via email. There is a 5 working days time limit to accept the place. Once the acceptance form has been completed and returned, you will receive notification that our child’s place is reserved. Confirmation of a place is made once the registration fee is paid and all essential supporting documents required are submitted.
- Depending on the acceptance date, the first term’s tuition fee may also be due.
- If the deadline is missed, the offer will be withdrawn
- Placement in Year Group:
- Placement of pupils is determined by age as of October 1st in the academic year of entry and follows:
- Preschool: 3 years old.
- FS1: 4 years old.
- Consideration Criteria:
- The first consideration (priority) is given to students who have siblings enrolled in the school. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate siblings, entry to EIS is by academic selection and place availability assessed on a case-by-case basis.
- The second consideration is given to students who apply for transfer from schools offering similar academic curriculum.
- The third consideration is given to students with the highest academic ability; keeping in mind place availability, class balance, and application date.
- Only completed and qualified applications will be considered.
- At NDIS, we aim to interview every child and his/her parents prior to entry. Each child must take a grade/age-appropriate placement test to ensure that readiness to join EIS.
- The assessment fee of EGP1,000 is due on the day of the assessment. The assessment fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee a place in EIS.
- Pupils are offered places based on their performance in the entry assessments; subject to satisfactory references from their current school.
- The priority of acceptance is granted to pupils with the highest performance on the admissions entrance assessment.
- Both parents are required to attend the parents’ interview (when applicable).
- After successfully completing the school’s admissions process, you will receive the offer via email. Reasons behind pupil’s rejection are kept confidential.
- Upon acceptance, a deadline will be announced for depositing an advance payment. If payment is not secured within this period, the school will not guarantee place availability.
- Depending on the acceptance date, the first term’s tuition fee may also be due.
- If an applicant has met the relevant criteria and standards but no places are available, they will be offered a place on the waiting list
- All admissions supporting documents and other required documentation for the registration with the Ministry of Education should be submitted before the beginning of the academic year.
